GET INVOLVED
Wreaths Across America
WAA (Wreaths Across America) honors the memory of the men and women that sacrificed for their country. Chapters and members are encouraged to register with Wreaths Across America, solicit wreath donations, participate in ceremonies, and in the laying of wreaths.
Veterans
DAR members serve homeless veterans by providing buddy bags containing non-perishable food items and personal care items. Volunteers collect, distribute, and deliver food to community shelters. During stand downs, DAR volunteers serve meals, distribute clothing, work at information tables, help with medical and social screenings, and provide companionship to homeless veterans.
America 250! Commission
Celebrate the 250th Birthday of the United States of America and the Patriots that achieved American Independence with gifts to the nation at the National Society level, and through the meaningful activities at the state and chapter levels to promote a more enlightened public through education.
Good Citizen Award
The DAR Good Citizens program is a brilliant way to recognize outstanding young people who exhibit the qualities of good citizenship in their homes, schools, and communities! Chapters should contact local high schools as soon as possible and encourage their participation.
The DAR Good Citizens program and Scholarship Contest is intended to encourage and reward the sparkling qualities of good citizenship in our students. The program is open to all high school seniors enrolled in public or private schools accredited and in good standing with their state board of education. Students are not required to be United States citizens.
Constitution Week
September 17-23 is Constitution Week!
In 1955, the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution petitioned Congress with a resolution to set aside September 17-23 dedicated for the observance of Constitution Week. The annual celebration was established when signed into law by President Dwight D. Eisenhower on August 2, 1956.
NSDAR is committed to encouraging study and educating the public about the Constitution and the men who framed it.
